What We Believe

We believe the Old and New Testament in their entirety are the Word of God. It is inspired by the Holy Spirit and completely true in the original writings and the final authority in faith and life.  John 17:17,2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:19-21.

We believe in one God, who always was and always will be, existing in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, each distinguishable but indivisible. He is holy, creator of all things, and unlimited in knowledge and power. Genesis 1, Leviticus 19:1-2, Deuteronomy 6:4, Psalm 147:5, Isaiah 40:28, Matthew 28:19-20, John 1:1-3, Acts 5:3-4.

We believe that God The Father desired the creation of humanity and we are of Him.  He is our heavenly Father, and is sovereign overall, works through us all, and is in us all as Christians.  Further, He is the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.  While Christ was here on earth in bodily human form, it was God The Father who dwelled in Jesus and it was God The Father who actually empowered the mighty works attributed to Jesus. 1 Corinthians 8:6, Matthew 23:9, Ephesians 4:6, Ephesians 1:3, James 1:17, John 14:10, 2 Corinthians 1:3-4, John 1:14.

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man. And though He has always existed with the Father, He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born of the Virgin Mary. We believe that Jesus Christ lived a sinless life, died for the sins of the whole world as a sacrifice in our place, that His crucified body was raised from the dead, and that He ascended into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God the Father as our High Priest, Advocate, and Mediator. Luke 1:34-35, John1:1, 14, 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, Philippians 2:6-8, Hebrews 4:15-16, 1 Timothy 2:5, 1 Peter 3:21-22, 1 John 2:1-2.

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, who lives within and guides Christians, so they are enabled to live godly lives. Being the third member of the Godhead, his role is to guide, convict, comfort, strengthen and transform the believer. John 3:5-8, John 14:16-17, John 14:26, John 16:7-8, Acts 1:8, Acts 5:3-4, Romans 8:11, Titus 3:4-6.

We believe the Church universal began at Pentecost with the baptism of the Holy Spirit and consists of all those who believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Christ is the Head of the Church, called His Body. The local church is a body of believers in Christ who are joined together under scriptural leadership for the worship of God, for moral and intellectual growth through the Word of God, for prayer, for fellowship, for the proclamation of the Gospel, and for observance of the ordinances of baptism and the Lord’s Supper. Matthew 16:16–18, Acts 1:4-5, Acts 2:42–47, Ephesians 1:20–23, Ephesians 4:11-16, 1 Corinthians 12:13.

As a result of Adam’s rebellion and our own, all people have fallen under the curse of death, and are undeserving of God’s blessings, blinded to His truth, and dead in their sins—spiritually and, ultimately, physically. This condition permeates every facet of human life and cannot be cured apart from the grace of God through Christ. Genesis 3, Romans 3:10–18, Romans 3:23, Romans 5:12.

We believe that salvation was provided for all who repent of their sins and accept and profess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior as the only way to be made right with God. This saving grace was solely provided by the finished work of Christ’s sacrifice of His sinless life on the cross in place of ours. John 3:16, John 14:6, Romans 6:10, Romans 10:9-10, 2 Corinthians 5:21, Ephesians 2:8–9, 1 Timothy 2:3-6, 1 John 1:9.

We believe that Jesus will return according to the Father’s plan in order to complete the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; the saved unto the resurrection of eternal life and the lost unto the resurrection of damnation and eternal punishment. 1 Corinthians 15:51-57, 1Thessalonians 4:13-5:11, Revelation 20:11-15.

We believe God created humanity, male and female, reflecting the image and likeness of God. Each person’s biological sex has been sovereignly appointed by God and is an irreversible aspect of his or her nature. Rejection of one’s God-ordained biological sexuality reflects a rejection of God’s plans and purposes. We believe God’s plan for human sexuality is to be expressed only within the context of monogamous marriage between one male and one female as the foundation of the family and the basic structure of human society. Genesis 1:26, 27, Genesis 2:18-25, Deuteronomy 22:5, Matthew 5:27-30, Matthew 19:5-6, Romans 1:21-32, 1 Thessalonians 4:3-7,

We believe that human life is sacred from conception to its natural end; and that we must have concern for the physical and spiritual needs of our fellowmen. Exodus 21:22-25, Psalms 82:3-4, Psalm 139:13-16, Matthew 22:37-39, Galatians 6:10.
